Status Bar in Visio

The status bar provides useful feedback and is found at the bottom of the screen. The amount of information displayed in the status bar is context sensitive, varying with the shape selected and the operation in progress.

Different status indicators for different operations
The status box indicates what is happening in the current operation

The status box provides information on the operation curently underway. It shows in words what the control handles show by color. The page box shows two numbers separated by a slash. The first is the number of the page currently displayed. The second is the number of pages in the drawing.

With a shape selected, clicking anywhere in the left hand message box displays the Size & Position dialog. This dialog enables you to set size and position values for the selected object numerically, and therefore with complete precision. The dialog display varies with respect to the shape and its nature.

The Visio Basics tutorial is based on training material devised, created and delivered by Visimation.
