Create a straight line in a Visio drawing by holding down the Shift key while drawing with the pencil tool or the line tool .

Visio will create a straight line in 45 degree increments.

Holding down the Shift key while you draw also works to create perfect circles with the ellipse tool and perfect squares with the rectangle tool .
