Closing a Shape in Visio

Chris Hopkins

A closed shape in Visio is a shape that can be filled and an open shape is a shape that cannot be filled.

You can use the Join command (Visio 4.1 and later) to convert an open shape to a closed shape if the vectors meet end to end.

If the vectors overlap you will need to use the Fragment command (Visio 3.0 and later) to create the closed shape.

If the vectors do not meet or overlap, you can not convert the shape to a closed shape.
