Information

IntelliCAD, ervice Release, E

Service Release E for IntelliCAD® 98 by Visio resolves several issues important to end users and developers alike. This article summarizes the improvements provided.

Service Release E updates release 1.0d of IntelliCAD 98 to release 1.0e. You can obtain Service Release E by downloading it from Service Releases & Updates or by calling Visio Customer Service. We recommend that everyone who uses release 1.0d of IntelliCAD 98 install Service Release E.

IMPORTANT  Service Release E does NOT include the improvements provided by Service Release D. If you have not already done so, you must install Service Release D before you install Service Release E.

Improvements for end users

IntelliCAD 98 properly handles attempts to use an object snap (OSNAP) on an external reference file (XREF) that contains blocks with 40 or more intersections. It now displays an error message and allows you to continue working.

Solids in user-defined blocks and polylines with width print properly in cases in which they did not print before.

IntelliCAD 98 properly handles attempts to create a hatch that is too large or too dense. It now displays an error message and allows you to continue working.

More user-supplied SHX fonts used outside the United States (with characters above the 128 ASCII characters) display properly, rather than as question marks.

IntelliCAD 98 handles negative DMS (degrees-minutes-seconds) angles properly.

IntelliCAD 98 properly maintains changes to the default list of command aliases.

Under Windows 95 and 98, IntelliCAD 98 prints multiline text (MTEXT) to more printers properly, resolving the gr.dll issue that some users experienced.

Improvements for developers

The (read-line) function handles the end of a file properly by returning nil.

An sds_cbentmod callback no longer occurs when a user uses an object snap (OSNAP) on a block.

You can now use the sds_command function to execute a SHELL command and run another program or batch file.
